Ankle Pain: how we help
Ankle pain often starts in a split second. One wrong step off a kerb, a twist while playing cricket or badminton, or a slip on an uneven Jaipur footpath, and the ankle rolls over. Many people feel pain, swelling and a bit of wobbliness afterwards. Some ankles settle on their own, but others stay sore, keep giving way, or feel weak long after the twist. A physiotherapist can help you understand what happened and guide your recovery.
How we help
- A careful check of your ankle to see what was affected and how it is moving now
- Hands-on treatment to ease pain, swelling and stiffness, with modalities like laser or dry needling where suitable
- A step-by-step exercise plan to rebuild strength, balance and steady footing
- Simple advice on walking, footwear and safe return to sport or daily activity
What to expect
Your first visit starts with a detailed look at your ankle, how it moves, where it hurts and how steady it feels when you stand and walk. From there, your physiotherapist builds a plan that fits your stage of recovery and explains it in plain language, so you know what to do at home and why each step matters.
Common questions
Should I rest my ankle or keep moving it?
It depends on how recent and how severe the injury is. Gentle movement often helps, but your physiotherapist will assess your ankle and tell you what is safe at each stage.
My ankle keeps twisting again and again. Why?
After a sprain, the ankle can feel weak or unsteady, which makes repeat twists more likely. Balance and strength exercises often help, and your physiotherapist will guide you on what suits you.
Do I need an X-ray for ankle pain?
Not every ankle needs one. Your physiotherapist will check your ankle and, if needed, advise you to see a doctor for an X-ray or other test.
