Runners in Jaipur often face hamstring strains from sudden sprints or hill runs. These cause pain at the back of the thigh. Hamstring strain physio helps grade the injury and guide recovery.
This guide covers hamstring strain grades, self-assessment for muscle strain, hamstring tear symptoms, grade 1 hamstring strain, safe hamstring stretches for runners, running injury rehab steps, and back of thigh pain physio. See a physio for proper check before rehab. In-person assessment rules out sciatica or back referral. Looking for a Physiotherapy Clinic Near Me? Hamstrings are three muscles at the back of the thigh: biceps femoris, semitendinosus, semimembranosus. They bend the knee and extend the hip. Runners strain them in acceleration, tight strides, or poor warm-ups.
Causes include overstriding, fatigue, weak glutes. Jaipur heat adds dehydration risk. Pain starts sudden, like a pull or pop. Confirm site: high near buttocks is proximal; mid-thigh is middle tear; low near knee is distal. Read more about our Posture Correction.
Self-assess before physio to gauge severity. Mild strains may need rest. Severe ones need hands-on care. Track pain with sitting, standing, stairs. Note radiation to calf or buttock. You may also find Slip Disc Exercises for Sitting Jobs in Jaipur useful.
Symptoms vary by location and severity. Sudden sharp pain feels like a kick. Pop sensation possible. Limping follows.
Bruising spreads after 24-48 hours from torn fibres. Swelling tightens thigh. Weakness on push-off or stairs. Stiffness after rest, worst in morning.
Cramps ease with stretch; strains persist. Numbness or tingling to foot needs medical check for nerves. Physios test symptoms to guide rehab.
Grades 1-3 based on damage. Grade 1: mild tears. Grade 2: partial. Grade 3: full rupture.
Sit or stand. Note pain, swelling, function. Test knee bend to chest. Straight-leg raise to 30-60 degrees. Resisted knee bend: push heel into hand.
